There are a number of uses that wooden rain barrels can be put to. Besides the obvious ones of course are the ones that you look into daily. While I could easily make this blog post about rain water harvesting and the many benefits of engaging in such an activity, I’d like to digress and look at other things that they can be used for. One of the things that I have been using bashed up or broken barrels for years are as water pots. They are an extremely versatile set of things to use and they are great at making your garden look rustic all over again. While there are those who will say they like plastic baskets and wore mesh flower pots better, the truth of the matter is that there is nothing that compares to the rustic and very paleo look that these wooden barrels offer.
If you aren’t storing water in them you need to look at other things that go into the whole idea of getting and maintaing a steady water supply for your home that extends beyond the normal. And what is the normal you ask? Well the normal is what you think of when you think about gardens in your neighborhood and the like. Things like gnomes and others like fairies. Also, let us not forget the pink flamingos that we seem to find everywhere else. There is a lot that needs to be taken into account when you are looking to make your garden stand out. Also you are doing your bit for the environment by re-using the various things that you would have otherwise thrown away in the trash or something of that sort. That is all I have to say about the very vast topic that is wooden barrels. Hope you enjoyed reading my blog post.
